Once your kingdom is in a state of growth, crises will arise. You will respond to the crisis by training incredible guardians with resource cards and protecting your kingdom. You will also manage limited resources and strategically craft items and weapons to create different types of units: farmers, explorers, thieves, soldiers, etc.

Gameplay consists of many buildings that provide functionality for combining cards in diverse ways. For example, at Castle Land, you can farm your lands and extract resources, and build tools and weapons at the Blacksmith; you can use the Academy to teach peasants different professions, allowing for valuable workers, such as lumberjack. At The Armor, you can train your units, which can result in different types of soldiers: archers, mages, and necromancers.

You can explore locations with the Explorer’s Clan and send thieves to steal from towns and castles; the Conqueror’s Guild allows you to conquer locations through multiple combat phases, which grant you victory points when you win an encounter. In Kingdom of Cards, the strategy aspect of the game is blended with real-time combat, wherein player units and enemies will attack automatically. Each time a unit can attack, it will complain about the assignment, and each unit will have a unique set of abilities.
